What’s The Other Building Next To Taco Bell On Clayton Rd. In Concord? It’s A Childcare Facility!

We’re getting a lot of questions about the building being constructed next to Taco Bell on Clayton Rd. in Concord.

There are actually two buildings under construction.

As we previously reported, the one closer to Clayton Rd. is a Dutch Bros. coffee shop.

The other building, behind Dutch Bros., which we also reported about, will be an 8,000-square-foot Kiddie Academy educational child care facility.

Construction started back in June, so it’s going pretty slow.

Great news that it’s something worthwhile for kids. I certainly would have welcomed a new Italian style restaurant from a well known restaurant chain.

SO MUCH better than yet ANOTHER Starbucks. Finally, something that makes sense.

There is in no way enough room in that congested area for a Dutch Bros .. this will literally destroy that whole area

“Destroy”? Extreme alarmism and hysteria at its finest! Your post is LAUGHABLE!
.
As a development specialist, I have heard this all too often and when the facility gets up and running, the fear of gridlock traffic is non-existent.
.
As such, what it comes down to is effective management of drop-offs and pick-ups. Therefore, coordination with the clients is very important. One of the best strategies is to stagger times for pick-up and drop-offs. Another is to have a staff member outside to conduct check-ins so the parent is not required to park and exit the vehicle to drop offbthe kid. Nor, when leaving, to reverse the vehicle which blocks or slows the queue.

In terms of outdoor play space, the State requirement is 75 square feet per child. The space is based on point-in-time capacity, not enrollment or facility attendance.
.
Now you know.

These type of child centers are just warehouses for kids. All the “Educational” and “Development” stuff is just Marketing to parents.

A childcare center is a horrible idea. Right next a a place that will have a mile line of cars. No room for a playground too. Horrible idea!
