The store closing sign has gone up so now it’s official.

As we previously reported, The $.99 store on Clayton road in Concord and the one on Willow Pass road in Concord is closing forever. It was announced last week that the Concord locations as wells every single other location in the United States will close within the next few weeks.

QUESTION: Will you miss it?

No I won’t miss it. Never shopped there for anything. Good riddance. Now that shopping area only has tj maxx and i think papa john’s pizza is still there.

Any business or business chain in America is not good news in my opinion,

I used to pop in the one on Willow Pass occasionally when I did my Fry’s visits. So it has been quite awhile. 🤓

Back in the day I wondered that even some of the big box stores might have invested in the dollar stores because shelf space in the big stores was precious and would want to maximize profit on every square inch of it. The dollar stores filled in the gap for the low priced (low profit) items.

Both this center and the Bel-Air are 1970s dumps. Should both be demolished. But no, we like to give tax breaks to those who sit on mildewy old real estate and milk for all that it’s worth.

There is also a sign on their door that says “no baskets, all stolen”.

Inflation at work. No more 99¢ – now only the Dollar Stores will survive.
Of course, everything there is now $1.29…

The 99 cents referred to all items ending in 99 cents not everything being 99 cents.

They sold milk, bread and other items cheaper than the supermarket but you aren’t getting milk for 99 cents.

I shopped there weekly because my youngest granddaughter likes Dole bagged Caesar salad. I bought some fruits and veggies, my hair products, knee-high stockings, trash bags, wax paper, sandwich bags, dish detergent and pan spray there. Yes. I will miss it.
