Agree, wish we could but who would be able to get through those times when we need heat and air when they turn it off for not Paying our bills? They’ve got us by the proverbial balls. The dangers of infrastructure monopolies. Maybe we should start voting for CPUC board instead of having them appointed.

As we capitulate to their increasing fees and are fleeced, they are planning to save us from ‘our’ financial demise…that they created. It’ll never happen, the price of goods never stop going up. It can slow down, but with PG&E, it won’t even slow down. When it comes to politics, large corporations, and government run agencies, such as the California Public Utilities Commission, there is too much corruption, and money involved. One thing to remember, the CPUC is not on the side of the consumer, every one of them was appointed by the governor.
Makes you wonder why Governor Schwarzenegger vetoed utility regulation.

Garbage, Sewer Fees and Water rate increases are approved by City Council. Garbage specifically for business is up almost up 30% in last 4 years. They just raised it another 6% in January.
But let’s cap landlord rate increases to 60% of inflation.
It ends when Claycord gets other options besides this monopoly.

PGE Employees generally get 25% off their bill. I have family that works there that told me about this.

City of Concord slammed all of us (I think it was ‘all’) over into the MCE Clean Energy thing which raised our rates (clean ain’t cheap) and on top of that PG&E still got a fee for using their lines for distribution…which was an added expense.
I finally CANCELLED MCE (Marin County is/was pocketing “green rewards” money, ZERO benefit to CCCo. or Concord (unless Concord City Council was swapping spit too.)
I only saw about $5.00 lowering of my total bills over the few months from xcel MCE to this last PGE increase.

Concord Grape is probably correct on the $14+ million pay. My $4.4 million was found on just ONE of the many companies PG&E has. My question is: Are they buying gas/elec from some of their own holdings and then charging us Retail x2 for it?
PCGPA, PCGPH, PCGPC, and PCGPB are not separate PG&E companies. They are preferred stocks, which are similar to a bond. They are considered equity (stock) for accounting purposes. They are similar to a bond because they pay a set quarterly dividend that does not change until the security matures. Often times there is no maturity date on the preferred shares.

Who says it will ever end? Think of all the executive type salaries and dividends to shareholders that they must pay. I really get a kick out the shareholders. They don’t really do anything relating to the company’s purpose but want to be paid dividends for voting the stock. The company doesn’t get anything after they sell the shares because after that the share are sold by whomsoever owns some at whatever they can or can’t get for them. The way I see it the company could stop paying dividends and reduce the cost of the customers who pay to use PG&E services..
I would have thought that people would be okay with the prices. After all, PG&E is all onboard with the cause…….DEI, ESG, WEF.
The CEO Patti Poppe posted selfies from The World Economic Forum conference last year. This year, two PG&E VPs went instead.
A Utility has ZERO business or reason being involved in the WEF.
The rate increases will stop only when the people stand together and force the government to represent them once again.
Quite cavalier for PG&E to raise the rates at this time. They try to soften by telling us it’s to pay for the underground wiring they’re going to do. Did we demand it immediately? And some folks on this explained that would cause rates to increase to pay for it. I think PG&E is a bad model for a utility company and for the citizens of this state. They’re banking on us not raising a stink. Let’s smell the place up!
We already paid for undergrounding…CPUC let PG&E get by with using those funds for “other purposes.”

CPUC is supposed to regulate PG&E, but PG&E greases their hand by offering CPUC members executive positions at PG&E once they retire from CPUC. Can you be surprised? This is exactly how the opioid epidemic propagated — when Purdue Pharma hired that guy from the FDA!

PGE has 12 more requests to increase our bills due to liability suits against them so we have to pay for their fu$k ups and the PUC has put those requests on hold for their own survivability because they know we are watching our bills are already 4xs what we paid! can you imagine if the forthcoming 12 requests are accepted and we pay for those issues in our energy bills and homeowners insurance as well that’s if you haven’t been denied by location!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
