You can’t? What brilliant thinking, that’s all the proof I need!
Seriously, grow up.

Maybe the democrats, deep state and FBI should have thought twice about raiding the private residence of a president.
I have zero sympathy for what’s coming next.

33
17

Hi Sam. What’s coming next is tariffs. If President Trump keeps his word, we should see tariffs on China, Mexico, and Canada by the end of the day. If we soon see Biden-style inflation, Trump’s support will evaporate the first time people go shopping. If not, I guess I will have to cook and eat the crow in my freezer.

What do you mean inflation? I don’t buy anything from canada, mexico or china. You do understand tariffs are on imported and exported goods don’t you? I couldn’t care less about any of it. I voted for Trump simply to burn this corrupt government to the ground and watch liberals cry. Egg prices are a result of killing hens to push another medical hoax.

20
9

Egg prices may already be dropping. Safeway had a full stock yesterday. Raley’s gave me a coupon for a free carton of eggs (12 or 18). Probably the bluff has been called. Now the coffee bluff may need to called as well the dark chocolate one.

13
8

Don’t tell them, let them cry, it’s what I live for

9
7

Sam. You’re not the only person in the US buying stuff. I am fully aware that tariffs are on imports and exports, but we currently – for better or worse – buy a lot of stuff imported from Mexico and China. So if the tariffs are enacted, we will probably still see massive inflation.

But as I said, there is frozen crow in the freezer, which I will happily defrost and eat if the economy stays relatively strong and healthy.

7
19

We just had lived the highest inflationary period the country has ever seen. Are telling me an extra buck on maple syrup is gonna put us over the top? Nobody needs anything from china. Nobody is importing crap from mexico except mexican laborers, but that’s ending.

11
10

All that crap is already too expensive to buy for alot of folks.
If they’ve already stopped buying it what the hell does anyone care if they raise the price even more?

6
3

I’m New Here,
.
Importers and exporters usually have an agreement determining which one of them will pay any tariffs, or if both of them will share the cost of any imposed tariffs. As we saw during President Trump’s first term, many importers didn’t raise their prices, and/or only raised prices by a fraction of what the imposed tariffs were. It’ll largely be easy to avoid most tariffs, if importers even choose to raise prices, by purchasing US made products instead, and/or only purchasing imported products that an individual NEEDS, and not what an individual WANTS.

6
2

What is happening now is a game of chess or maybe “The Art of the Deal”. I don’t remember much about the latter game other than I could win at it than at Monopoly. There’s probably about 3 months of air to clear before real things start to happen.

8
4

I’m New Here,
.
Did you shoot the crow or is it roadkill?

11

It wasn’t a raid. It was execution of a legally obtained search warrant for documents that the former president stole. Most of those stolen documents were recovered.

There. Fixed it for you.

8
30

Perfect. I don’t want to hear any crying out of you when we legally execute people for treason.
The president has the ultimate declassification powers. You will learn.

13
15

Stole? That’s a good one. You obviously don’t know what you are talking about(but you sure know what the democrat propaganda news media says).
p.s. When will they go after China Joe for his crimes while in office?

15
4

If Trump executes a search on Bidens’ and Harris’ residences next week in hopes to find any documents that shouldn’t be there, you would fully support that, right? As long as the warrants were legally obtained? We, of course, wouldn’t call it a raid, we would call it a recovery.

10

Biden had “stolen” documents not Trump. There, fixed it for you.

12
2

Anyone know when a Bird flu vaccine be ready? Asking for a Democrat friend. I’m waiting for those flashing signs on our highways to be put in place to warn us to stay home. Hopefully, there will be a mandatory vaccine campaign started by one of the big pharmaceutical companies. Ask Nancy and husband which one.

19
10

schiff has again demonstrated there is not one Senator, and few living humans alive, that come close to being as loathsome a person as he is. To hear an absolutely corrupt, dishonest and, let’s face it, dim wretch of a person question the suitability of any other person to take on an appointed position is preposterous and absurd.

25
7

We should have learned by now to not comply. Little they can do about that.

7
5

Captain Bebops,
.
Unless we have an Attorney General who’s of the same political party as the Senator who’s asking the questions, that you say a witness or political nominee shouldn’t answer, the AG can and will take legal action for Contempt of Congress, just as Attorney General Merrick Garland did with Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro for not complying with Congressional subpoenas.

As we are currently witnessing an expansion of executive power, it is crucial to consider that once executive power is that once it is expanded, it can be used as a tool by whoever holds the office. Often times it raises critical debates and judicial challenges. This has occurred often in history:

Lincoln suspended habeas corpus and issued the Emancipation Proclamation. He also took military actions without congressional approval. His actions were controversial, but they were justified as necessary to preserve the Union. Many of his decisions were later challenged in the courts, and some were deemed unconstitutional.

After the September 11 attacks, Bush expanded presidential powers significantly in the name of national security. This included the authorization of the Patriot Act, warrantless wiretapping, and the creation of military tribunals to try terrorism suspects. Bush also asserted the right to act unilaterally in military matters, particularly during the Iraq War.Many of these actions were controversial and raised concerns about civil liberties. The expansion of executive powers, particularly in areas like surveillance, led to legal and political battles over privacy rights and the scope of executive authority, with some measures eventually being rolled back or reformed.

Obama expanded presidential power, particularly through executive orders, in areas like immigration (e.g., Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA) and climate change policy (e.g., the Clean Power Plan). He also took military actions, like the intervention in Libya, without congressional approval. His use of executive orders and his military interventions raised debates about the proper role of the president and the limits of executive power. While some of his initiatives were challenged in the courts, they expanded the understanding of executive authority in certain areas, particularly in domestic policy.

Presidential actions have often been met with resistance from Congress and the judiciary and have sometimes been overturned or restricted by legal challenges. These expansions of power often spark debates regarding the balance of power among the branches of government and the potential for abuse of power. Some argue that such expansions are necessary for effective leadership in times of crisis, while others worry they threaten democratic checks on the executive.

We currently have limited checks on presidential power. So, as citizens in a democracy, we must remember that a healthy democracy does not limit freedoms in the Constitution, and “We, the People,” all the people, must maintain the principles of our nation through civic discourse, petitions, and the preservation of our institutions.

13
13

The US is too big. It needs to be broken up into several countries. But I don’t want to see Gavin be the King of Kalifornia. But the way he’s going he’ll be the first patient at Vacaville when it reopens.

7
16

How can you say the US is too big? Trump wants to take over Canada and Greenland. I guess the new slogan will be “Make America Bigger Again!”

4
16

Trump must’ve never read “The Nine Nations of North America” back in the day. But then some of these ideas are “test the water ones” with the results determining whether most of the voters are realistic or stupid. Take a page from Vlad who’s said he didn’t want to branch out.

The Observer,
.
Why would you expect Captain Bebops to have the same opinion as President Trump when it comes to the size of the US, expansionism, or whether or not the US should be broken up?

“… expansion of executive power …”
Executive orders can be reversed or modified by subsequent Presidents.

Patriot Act is proof of that statement.
.
Can’t give all the credit for DACA to obama,
research the “Napolitano memorandum” issued 15 June 2012.
.
“…limited checks on presidential power…”
Three branches of government, congress can limit presidents, main check and balance is Judiciary.
Problem with the Courts is time lag. Believe it was biden making an off the cuff comment, he didn’t care about the Courts because by the time they get around to striking down, the intended result has been achieved.

MDUSD Teacher,
.
Is this what you’re teaching and where are you getting this information?
.
President Obama used the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF), which was passed by Congress, in order to take military action in Libya. President Obama used the AUMF, just as President Bush, President Trump, and President Biden also used the AUMF.

Look at me, you’re darned right i voted for him!!!!!!

Liberal news media, tiktok, democrat politicians, local immigrant outreach groups are literally trying to get illegals killed. Telling people ICE need a warrant to enter a property is setting them up for a confrontation with law enforcement. Why do democrats hate immigrants? First they use them for cheap labor and the next thing you know they are trying to get them killed.

6
9

They only care about immigrants to the extent they can be used as a tool for disruption and profit.
They look forward to an ICE tragedy so they may stand up on their hind legs and howl at the horror of it all.
For the far lefties, Immigrants are simply political fodder.

7
2

Telling all people that ICE needs a warrant is consistent with their rights under the Constitution.

4
15

They do not have rights under the constitution.

6
8

Sam,
The Dems are hoping for confrontations between ICE and illegal aliens. All they need is one case on film showing an ICE raid where an illegal is roughed up or killed.
They want a Jorge Floyd moment to show how Trump and his “thugs” abuse hard working abuelos who are just looking for a better life.

3
2

Understood. Why can’t we just live with people who don’t play stupid manipulative games and have shared interests and goals? It’s the party of common sense vs the lowest common denominator. The dumbing down of America and Americans is sad. Nobody takes pride in being smart anymore, it’s a race to the bottom.

2
4

Ah man on second thought, if we can’t have mexican avacodos, we better call the whole thing off. No more deportations no more tariffs please. I need my guac for the super bowl….SIKE!

2
5

Speak softly and have tariffs ready.

Colombia refused to allow two US military plane loads of illegals to land.
President Trump mentions punitive tariffs.
Colombian president could not back pedal fast enough,
he even offered to come pick em up.
.
“China is operating the Panama Canal and we didn’t give it to China.
We gave it to Panama and we’re taking it back”
–President Trump inaugural address
.
Panama decides not renew 2017 Deal With China.
.
Leaders of countries know a crippled economy
means end of a career and possibly their life.
.
President Trump says what he wants to happen
and if it doesn’t the economy crippling tariffs that will be imposed.
.
Wonder where he learned how to do that.
Perhaps from his book, Trump: The Art of the Deal

5
3

Mexico is sending 10,000 troops to the border to keep invaders and fentanyl out of the USA.
Trump suspends tariffs on Mexico.
I guess that’s the “Art of the Deal”.

Is Newsom in hiding?

6
1

Good question, he was all pumped up after the election doing his fly by photo OPs.
.
” Gavin Newsom announced he is seeking up to $25 million in additional funding for legal fights with Donald Trump, despite the state’s massive budget shortfall.”
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14151081/Gavin-Newsom-demands-war-chest-Trump-proof-California.html
.
After the LA fires, His Imperial Majesty Emperor newsom
doesn’t seem to be nearly so pumped.

This is getting interesting, President Trump mentioned four countries, each problem and what will happen, tariffs, if those countries don’t correct the problems.
.
Funny thing, about leaders of countries, they want to stay in office, want their people to be reasonably happy and have an economy. Upset people enough and leaders may be seeking political asylum in another country. So far Columbia caved as did Panama, Mexico and Canada got 30 day reprieve from tariffs.
