Richard Michael Gibbons – 1933-2022
Richard Michael Gibbons died on October 3, 2022, after experiencing a brain bleed and heart attack.
Born in Michigan, he served in Korea after the conflict ended from 1954-1955.
In the mid-60s, he moved to San Francisco, where he met Jean Cobb. They married and moved to Contra Costa County in the mid-seventies.
Although he moved back to the City, he appreciated the libraries of Contra Costa and the view of Mt. Diablo. He loved books, the Detroit Lions, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Giants.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Cobb, daughter Jennifer Kathleen Gibbons, sister Kathleen Pietrowski, and several nieces and nephews. He was loved beyond measure.
