UPDATE: CHP Helicopter, Concord Police Searching For Suspect Off Port Chicago Hwy.

CHP helicopter H32 is assisting Concord Police with a search for one suspect who fled on foot, after being involved in a traffic collision. The collision occurred on Port Chicago Hwy, near the intersection of Hickory Dr / N 6th St, in Concord.

Please avoid the area.

UPDATE: The suspect was located in a nearby residential neighborhood and positively identified as the driver that fled the accident. The suspect will likely be charged with Felony Hit and Run. One person who was in the second vehicle, has been transported to an area hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

Really can’t understand why someone would feel a need to run from a traffic incident. It’ll just make thing worse for them. Unless…… oh I get it now!!

Under the influence, warrants, no license, insurance and or registration are usually the reasons why many Flee the scene of traffic accidents.
