Went out to see if any squash were ready to harvest and I got yelled at.
Mom and Dad Quail with a bunch of new hatchlings.
Keep a few patches overgrown with rose bushes and holly for them.
Between them and the lizards bug population is at an acceptable level.

Did I miss it? Any mention of D-Day on the 6th? Finally, late in the day, Harris Falkner did a piece on it on Fox News.
Was there any coverage on any of the major “news media”?
At last, at the end of the week, the East Bay Times garbage wrapper had a piece by Victor Davis Hanson. So much for timely coverage.
Why does it seem that so many are choosing to ignore or forget about one of the most crucial events of WW II?
It is a crime that there is so little remembrance of the thousands of our troops who gave their all.
Let’s not forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice to help end the war.

The VDH piece was a good read. We acknowledged it in this house. As our population is replaced by foreigners who do not care about America, or our history, and our “educators” focus more on deviant behavior and social engineering, all the while ignoring most (or making up) history, unless it highlights the negative events, the acknowledgement and memorialization of these significant events will diminish more and more.

Morning Joe on MSNBC did a nice piece on D-Day.

Headed to Target for two items today in Walnut Creek. It had been awhile since I’d been, so wanted some time for me. Got really tired of ordering online. Didn’t end up going in, but saw the parking signs directly across from the entrance on every spot. My first thought was get with it honey, technology use to be your expertise. Then I saw in a five minute period, that three people going out to their cars looked to be Gen Z. Is what is it. Have a nice weekend everyone…

Guess I’ll have to start using the Target App if I want to get a space up front that way?? I don’t care for parking garages as a woman no matter age and no matter what City.

Seems that Walmart (which is nearby) wants to compete more with Amazon so they gearing up for it with a membership thing. However parking at Walmart is plentiful and self check not always that busy. What ticks me off is going in and finding some item locked up like what I wanted to get the other day. Finally got someone over to unlock the case and what I was looking for was not in it. Looking at the app, which I use to determine if they actually have the item available, it was in another area. Curious the person who came to unlock the case went with me to see if the item was in that area. He asked the person in charge who didn’t know they had that item and we couldn’t immediately find it but it was up on high shelf and not locked up. We all had a good laugh.

That was rude of me, just dropping a recall without saying hi. I forget myself sometimes. I’d name each and every one of you I miss, but inevitably I’d miss someone I care about…So hey everyone! I thrive, if only because I insist on it.
Mr. Mayor, site looks sharp. I hope you’re getting the traffic it deserves. I should come by more often, I suspect that people I used to annoy have become too comfortable in my absence, I can probably fix that in minutes. 😉

Ok I’ll take it. NP. Monday I will travel to peninsula to buy a new Flute. Always used a German Open-Holed Flute to practice and again audition. Something for me, not my lost son, dead husband and the crap life brings. About me.

A over B but like both. Shrimp I do all the time and instead of Alfredo us Caesar dressing which works well. Crab I get rarely.

Dawg June 10, 2023 - 12:47 PM - 12:47 PM

A) Crab over shrimp any day.

My post about the recall didn’t make it up, here it is. Remington is being cagey about exactly what is meant by “incorrect propellant”, and whether this could create an under pressure or over pressure, either of which could potentially be catastrophic, particularly when you consider the higher pressure usually associated with 12ga slugs(so maybe that’s the reason) 😉 :

WARNING – Official Safety Recall Notice – AccuTip Slug

DO NOT USE REMINGTON 12 GAUGE PREMIER ACCUTIP 2-3/4” SABOT SLUG AMMUNITION WITH LOT CODES: L05ZC527, L05ZB527, L06ZB527, L06ZC527

Use of this product may result in firearm damage and/or personal injury.

Remington Ammunition has determined that boxes of the referenced lot numbers of Remington Premier AccuTip Slugs – PRA12, may contain shells with an incorrect propellant.

Description: Remington 12 gauge – 2-3/4” Premier AccuTip Slug
Index Number: PRA12
Part #: 20727
Lot Code: L05ZC527, L05ZB527, L06ZB527, L06ZC527

The lot codes can be found on the inside flap of the individual box or along the outside of a product case. Examples:

If you possess ammunition from these lot codes, immediately discontinue use of this ammunition and contact Remington at 1-800-243-9700. Remington Ammunition Consumer Service Department will arrange for the return shipment of your ammunition and upon receipt will send you replacement ammunition at no cost to you.

Do you know that the average cruise ship burns enough fuel in one hour to be equivalent to the 20 gallon tanks of 144 cars. That large cruise ships hold two million gallons of fuel. In that hour they only go 25 miles. Add up all the fuel freighters, tankers and cruise ships use and you are talking big numbers. Do we really need electric cars.

World’s a little crazy right now. Time for some driving music. Any music you like to listen to while driving? I’ve been listening to some old favorites on Youtube:

Calexico: The Ballad of Cable Hogue – Touch and Go Records
Sniff & the Tears – Driver’s Seat (official audio)
Steve Earle – Copperhead Road

Angry American June 11, 2023 - 5:12 PM - 5:12 PM

A note worth mentioning. Driving thru Davis on 80 today traffic slowed for a CHP cruiser on the shoulder as we passed it was a CHP officer changing the tire for an older man on the side of the road. “Bravo Sir!” we appreciate people like you out there. made my day.

Hanne Jeppesen June 11, 2023 - 5:55 PM - 5:55 PM

Songs for the road l think l have mentioned them before: The Doors, Roadhouse Blues, Mustang Sally Wilson Pickett, The Weight, The Band (preferably with the Staples singers), Rocking me, Steve Miller and 2 by Bruce Springsteen Born to run and the lesser known Darlington County.

Adult Son down in Texas had a stroke last week. Thought he might be having a heart attack so pointed truck towards nearest hospital while on phone to his Uncle. Thought processes were already impaired so his Uncle telling him to pull over and call 911 didn’t register.
.
Son’s Wife found him still in his truck in hospital parking lot.
Has recovered some functions . . . . . going to be long rehab.
.
Today realized he and I had never talked about the signs of a stroke.
.
Figured Claycord family should also know,
